27 Trees for 27 Years: A Legacy of Green in Abuja

What started as a personal birthday celebration has blossomed into a city-wide greening movement. Our flagship project, "27 Trees for 27 Years," is an ongoing commitment to planting indigenous trees across Abuja, creating a living legacy that grows alongside our communities.

The Roots of the Idea

The concept was born from a simple desire to mark a personal milestone with a meaningful gift to the planet. For my 27th birthday, I committed to planting 27 trees. The response from friends and the community was so powerful that it evolved into a core EcoCulture 360 initiative. Today, it's a movement that has seen over two thousand native trees planted, from the residential streets of Wuse II to the green belts bordering the Central Business District.

We partner with local communities, schools, and businesses to identify areas in need of greening. Each planting event becomes a celebration, a moment for residents to connect with their environment and each other. It’s a hands-on lesson in ecology, demonstrating the vital role trees play in cooling our city, improving air quality, and providing habitats for urban wildlife.

More Than Just Trees

Each sapling planted is a promise to the future. We prioritize indigenous species like the Neem and Gmelina trees, which are well-suited to Abuja's climate and provide maximum ecological benefits. These are not just decorative additions; they are carefully chosen to restore natural balance within the urban landscape.

The "27 Trees" project is a testament to the idea that collective, small actions can lead to profound environmental change. It's a visible, growing symbol of our commitment to a greener, healthier Abuja for generations to come.
